Xiamen World Ocean Week

During the Xiamen World Ocean Week (November 6th – 12th), BioMarine co-hosted with Fujian-OIC the first edition of the China-EU Blue Forward Investment Forum.

The main objective of this side event was to open more bridges between China and EU on blue economy topics and explore new pathways to funding innovative solutions. To support this, BioMarine brought a delegation of five innovative companies from five blue economy sectors to explore opportunities for their implementation on the Chinese market. The companies were the following:

Seaweed Concept (French lacto-fermented seaweed processing company)
Eauzons (French aquaponic company)
Sinay (French ocean data & digital twin company)
GIT coatings (Canadian anti-fouling company)
Adisseo (French animal feed company)

Over several days of site visits and meetings with key local stakeholders, strong interest was expressed by both sides in exploring synergies in areas such as research collaboration, data sharing, and business development. Just a few weeks following the event, several agreements were signed between French and Chinese companies.

Seventure Partners, BioMarine, the Fujian Ocean Innovation Center (FOIC), and delegates from Xiamen (China) and Biarritz (France) signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)— marking a transformative step in uniting Europe and Asia through the Blue Economy.

This networking event explores collaboration in a multi-stakeholder’s environment for blue impact. We have curated a group of project owners, investors, experts, industry all interested in testing a collaborative approach to improve and help catalyze projects for the blue economy.

We are looking forward to exploring ways to accelerate the deployment of selected innovations to improving blue strategic segments for the industry and its impact for local communities.
This meeting guide will give you a quick overview of the program and how to prepare for it to become a positive and valuable experience. We have chosen a very interactive methodology which has been tested positively during our previous editions .

This is a high-level networking meeting. All key stakeholders interested or directly linked our main themes will engage and contribute.

This unique conference will bring together Indigenous leaders, government officials, researchers, academics, NGOs, and industry representatives from across Canada, as well as international delegations.

As the effects of climate change become more apparent, environmentalists urge us to drastically reduce our carbon footprint. While it is true that human lifestyles can be adjusted to become more sustainable, we at BioMarine believe that innovative blue technologies can also contribute to reducing the global carbon footprint.

Encouraging energy transition towards the use of hydrogen and biofuels, promoting the use biomaterials to replace plastic, or feeding the world with vegetal and low trophic species for protein are some examples of what bio marine resources have to offer.
